My wife heard that rubbing vicks on the bottom of your feet can help relieve cold symptoms. What you think?

Home remedies for cold Although applying Vicks Vaporub on your feet is known to be beneficial in curing colds, there is no known reason why this seems to work. This remedy has been tried out with children with an almost 100% success rate. The basic idea is to apply the vicks on the soles of the feet and then cover the feet with socks. All symptoms of a heavy cough and nasal congestion will clear up shortly. You have not indicated whether you want to use this remedy yourself for your child but you should remember that there is no evidence to suggest that this works for adults.
There are a number of other home remedies that you can try to cure your cold. As soon as the symptoms of your cold begin to set in, start taking vitamin C because this builds up your immunity and can help shorten the duration of your cold drastically. You can also take zinc lozenges to reduce symptoms like a bad throat. If your nasal passages are blocked, it would help to undergo a steam inhalation routine to ease the blockages and allow you to breathe more easily. You should also drink chicken soup because it helps clear up the sinuses and ensure that you drink plenty of fluids, the warmer, the better. Salt water gargling can also help to ease an itchy and dry throat.
