Home remedies for scalp problems

Scalp problems are generally skin disorders that result from a general lack of scalp hygiene, and hair care; and also indicate unhealthy lifestyle and bad health. You will face problems of the scalp if your diet is poor and you have erratic eating and sleeping habits. These lead to problems like itchy scalp or dandruff, oily scalp, damage of roots, scalp blisters or sores, all leading to hair loss, which is the ultimate degradation of hair. Some of the corrective measures for scalp problems that will also prove beneficial to your general health are - eating lots of salads and green leafy vegetables and fruits, drinking 8-10 glasses of water every day, exercising regularly to improve blood circulation to the scalp and stimulate and strengthen the hair follicles. Consuming enough Vitamin B-complex is necessary to make your hair longer and stronger. Gently massage your scalp with fingertips for 5 minutes a day as this will enhance blood flow to the scalp and keep the problems away. Apply curd for 30 minutes or lemon juice for 20 minutes before having a shower; these act as good conditioners and curd keeps the scalp moisturized without making it oily while lemon deals with dandruff.

One of the best ways to take care of the scalp and keep it free of infections and disorders is by massaging it well with oil. Oils like coconut oil, lavender oil, almond oil, mustard oil and olive oil are all great for scalp health and enhance growth. You can heat any of these oils lightly and apply for half an hour before having a shower. These would not only improve blood circulation in your scalp but also keep it moisturized. Another good remedy for vitalizing scalp and helping hair growth is the use of fenugreek seeds. In a glass of water soak a few seeds overnight. Next morning rub the water into your scalp. You can also cleanse your scalp with rosemary. Boil a few leaves in water and apply to your hair and scalp. Use it everyday for a month and you won't have a single scalp problem other than having lustrous hair. Rosemary Essential Oil and Lavender Essential Oil also soothe and act as mild antibiotics for the scalp and hair. Organic apple cider vinegar is an alpha hydroxyl acid, which is responsible for removing dead skin cells, dirt and grime from the scalp. It serves as a good rinse.

You have not given any indication of what exactly your scalp conditions are. I am afraid it is difficult to give you complete answers to such queries. If your scalp shows evidence of dandruff then you should stop using shampoos with harsh chemicals. Instead look for gentle shampoos and conditioners that will not strip your hair of essential oils. When bathing, remember to always use lukewarm water to wash your hair. Washing your hair should be reduced to twice or thrice a week instead of everyday. You should avoid using hair dryers or styling tongs too often. Application of lime juice is generally an effective remedy for dandruff. You can also use the white of an egg on your scalp. However, the most effective remedy is regular treatment and pampering of the scalp. You should devote at least an hour to massaging your scalp regularly. You can use any oil. Heat the oil and rub it into your scalp with your fingers. Leave this on for an hour before you wash off. This will also help your hair grow better. However if your has been falling out in clumps or if you have noticed any rashes on your scalp or any itchiness you should visit a doctor since this could be indicative of some other condition.
