Natural remedies might / might not work as effective as over-the-counter drugs, but they surely save you from a list of side-effects. Try these easy-to-make remedies at home:

1. Dilute the vinegar with a little water and apply it with a cotton ball. You can also put a little vinegar in your bath.
2. Drink a mix of honey and vinegar, till your allergy subsides.
3. Ginger is both a natural antihistamine and a mild decongestant. Peel and crush a one-inch piece of fresh ginger root and boil in a mug of water. Steep for 5-10 minutes and drink. Garlic also helps stimulate the immune system.
4. Vitamin C is supposedly a natural anti histamine, but supplement after hearing the advice of your physician.
5. Chicken soup has been used for treating sinusitis, as it has infection-fighting benefits of the heat, hydration, and salt. It is also found to be an effective anti-inflammatory medicine.
6. Prepare an Isotonic Saline Solution:

  • 1 teaspoon of rock salt
  • 16 oz. of room temperature water
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

Mix the ingredients together in a clean container with a tight cover. Place some solution in the upper nostril. Plug that nostril and tilt the head slightly back and to the opposite side so the fluid runs out the other nostril. Place some more fluid in the upper nostril, then tilt the head slightly backward and to the same side to reach the sinuses. Repeat this procedure with the other nostril. Wash the dropper with hot water before dipping it back into the solution container to prevent contamination.
Gargle with some solution, letting it wash the back of your throat. Blow your nose gently. This procedure can be done once a day for mild symptoms of chronic sinusitis or for prevention during allergy season.
