Swollen and Chapped Lips Home Cures
It sounds like you might be having a reaction to an old or cheap lipstick. Make sure that you do not use your lipstick for more than eight months or at the most a year. Cheap lipsticks often contain harsh dyes and perfumes, so make sure that you avoid using them completely. The skin on your lips is extremely thin and sensitive and therefore it is easier for a reaction to set in. Even when using branded products, make sure that you wipe of your lipstick completely once you get home. If you are using a lipstick removal cream or lotion it could also be the cause of your reaction. Try to avoid using it for a few days and if the reaction subsides it would be safe for you to assume that the reaction is a result of the removal cream rather than your lipstick.
Smash a couple of mint leaves and mix it with a few drops of cucumber juice along with a little natural butter or cream. Use this as a soothing salve to treat your lips. The cucumber and mint juice will help reduce the inflammation and pain while the butter or cream will help to moisturize your lips.
