Irregular periods or menstrual cycles occur because your body is unhealthy or you are suffering from other problems related to thyroid, excessive stress or trauma, too much exercising or an unhealthy lifestyle. Your weight gain problem could also be related to one of these factors. You would need to see a gynecologist and get a medical checkup to see if you require any medical treatment. This would help you to find out the exact cause of your problems and then you can effectively treat them. Besides this you would need to maintain a healthy routine daily. Practicing yoga will help you to balance your weight and tone your body in a healthy manner. It will also strengthen your muscles and calm your mind thereby reducing stress and tension. If you can't practice yoga then you can go for long walks or try some other forms of exercises. Avoid the consumption of refined and processed foods as they do not have much nutrition and are high in sugars that are loaded with empty calories. Instead have fresh salads without the heavy dressings. Eating raw carrots daily also helps to regulate monthly periods so include it in your daily salads. Also have lots of fluids throughout the day. Have at least 8 to 10 glasses of pure water and fresh fruit juices. Grape juice helps to regulate the monthly cycle so you can have a glass of it daily. But avoid the packed one as it contains preservatives and added sugar and colors. Instead have the fresh juice without sugar. Avoid eating spicy and oily food. Eat simple home cooked food and include sprouts, fresh vegetables and grilled chicken and or fish in your meals. Avoid consuming alcohol and smoking cigarettes.
