It could be that the nausea and vomiting have nothing to do with the drowsiness altogether. For instance, anemia could explain the constant lethargy as this is a common problem facing girls. It appears that the nausea and vomiting are a recent occurrence while the drowsiness has been rather persistent. It would be best to let a doctor thoroughly examine the child since it is best to diagnose conditions like anemia early on. This will help your child feel better and have a more active life.

For the nausea and vomiting, it helps to offer light foods which do not make the child feel more nauseated. For instance, fresh fruits are usually a good idea when a person finds it difficult to keep food down. Furthermore, it is the citrus varieties that are really good in case of nausea. The vitamin C usually helps the person overcome this feeling. Sometimes a little lemon juice may be taken to help the person feel better. This could be offered with some water and sugar, along with just a pinch of salt. Since the child is losing a lot of nutrition and fluids on account of this feeling of nausea, it would be imperative that you make up for the lost fluids. Even if the child does not seem inclined to ingest solid foods, liquids must be given. The girl will need plenty of rest to recover her strength and will also need a lot of water in addition to other fluids. Keep the child hydrated by making her sip on water from time to time. You could whip up your very own hydrating solution by adding the key ingredients of salt and sugar to a bottle of water.

At the same time, try to encourage her to eat a little by offering choices such as light soups. In most cases milk and other kinds of dairy products tend to disagree with the person suffering from nausea. Remember that such vomiting could eventually lead to the problem of severe dehydration which must be avoided at all costs.
