Try these home remedies to ease your condition -
- Splash your face with cold water to improve blood circulation. Lightly tap the upper and lower eyelids with your finger tips for better circulation.
- Place cold moist tea bags on the outer side of your eyelids, the tannins in tea will help to reduce the puffiness and swelling.
- Dip two cotton balls in cold skim milk and drain excess milk so that it does not drain from the cotton balls. Place these balls on your eyes and relax for 10-15 minutes. Cold compresses would also help to ease the puffiness.
- Rub your hands and place them on the eyes lightly without putting pressure on the eyeball. This will help your eyes relax.
- Drink enough water and get adequate sleep at regular intervals.
If the redness, scratchiness, puffiness or pain remains longer, consult a specialist (ophthalmologist) to treat the problem.
