Acid reflux is the horrible burning sensation that you get in your throat that makes you want to gag. You wonder where all that horrible acid like stuff came from and then try to think of various treatments for this. Acid reflux is nothing but the liquid in your stomach backing up your esophagus.
Acid reflux is usually caused by the food that you eat. If you have eaten a very heavy meal with lots of fried and spicy food items, then you are more than likely to get some acid reflux. Sometimes, the tap water contains enough chemicals to cause acid reflux. Some medicines can also cause you to experience acid reflux. If you have recently started some medication, you should check with your doctor to see if these medicines have any possible side effects. If your problem with acid reflux continues, you should consult your doctor.
Drinking a few glasses of mineral water can give you instant relief. You can follow this up with a glass of apple cider vinegar. You can dilute it with some water and then drink it. Chewing on some carom seeds along with a glass of hot water can also give you relief. However, you need to make some changes to your diet. You should stop eating food that contains white flour. Avoid eating late dinners. Eat light food like salads and soups. Drink water throughout the day. Avoid eating vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli and dairy products like cheese and yeast.
