The burning sensation left behind by habanero peppers can be temporarily relieved by applying ice cubes which will numb your hands. For greater relief, wash your hands with carbolic soap at least twice and then apply a layer of olive oil to them.
Dipping your hands in chilled, creamy milk and letting them stay there for 20 minutes will also help considerably. You can also rub a mix made of mint leaves and clarified butter and apply this to your hands. This will help with the burning as well as heal your hands, since clarified butter has healing properties as well. You can clarify butter by simply melting unsalted white butter till it is clear, then strain and use. You can also use about 100 grams of white butter with a teaspoon of turmeric powder worked into it. This will ease the burning sensation as well as help with healing your hands.
For quick relief, you can make a paste of sandalwood powder and rose water and apply this on your hands. Let it dry and then dust off. You can do this as often as you like. Just remember not to eat with your hands until you have washed them. Your best bet is to leave this on overnight. In order to not repeat this problem, remember to coat your hands liberally with olive oil before you begin handling peppers again.
