Sometimes some water does get trapped into your ear. What happens is that when you are swimming or even when you are showering, some water finds its way into your ear. Once the water is inside your ear canal, the ear wax prevents it from escaping. This can be very disconcerting and affect your hearing. Also, the presence of water in the dark ear canal makes it the perfect breeding ground for infections. If you have an infection, you will notice some discharge. Your ear may also hurt. If you do notice these symptoms, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
The simplest remedy for a plugged ear is swallowing hard. This can often help the block in your ear disappear. Use a dropper to put in a few drops of vinegar. This will help your ear clear up. Peel and grate an onion and squeeze it to extract the juice. You can put in a few drops of this juice into your ear. Applying heat to the affected ear is also usually very effective. You can heat a towel on a hot pan and hold this to the ear. Do this repeatedly and you will find that the block clears up.
