Symptoms and Treatment for Menstrual Pain
The "menstrual pain" you feel occurs because of natural cycles of your reproductive hormones, estrogen and progesterone. The fastest and best way of getting relief from this condition is to have a hot shower, while running plenty of hot water all over your body. If you have any pain in a particular part of the body, you can use a castor oil compress for relief. To make this, fold a cloth into a few layers and soak it with oil. Apply this to your body and put a hot water bag on it. This will help with providing relief from the dull pain that usually accompanies a period. Staying away from high salt foods will also help you, since foods that have too much salt in them tend to retain water in the body and cause some amount of swelling, which can be painful. Cutting down on caffeine and related products will also help you to fight the pain. Exercising daily will also help in reducing this pain during this limited period.
In order to avoid vomiting, you can have a glass of warm milk with some ground cinnamon stirred in every night. This is supposed to help you to overcome nausea. Whenever you feel the bile rising, you can also suck on a lime or lemon to make you feel better instantly. A drink of ice cold water will also help you in this case.
