A douche is one of the worst things you can do for leucorrhea. Personal hygiene when overdone can also cause leucorrhea. Leucorrhea may be caused by a whole host of reasons. If the discharge has a fishlike offensive odour, you probably have bacterial vaginosis. If it is thick and creamy, it is probably a yeast infection.
Here are some precautions to take to prevent Bacterial vaginosis (BV):- Wipe from front to back always
- Wear loose fitting cotton undergarments
- Always take probiotics along with a course of antibiotics
- Eat a lot of yogurt
- Avoid public toilets and baths.
And here are some ways to deal with a yeast infection:
- Take garlic in powdered or capsule form. This is a natural antifungal and works very well for yeast
- Grapefruit seed extract is also an excellent antifungal
- Try applying yogurt to the affected area.
- Olive leaf extract is also highly effective.
All of these should help you deal with the white discharge. Also consider that the discharge may be a normal part of your cycle and not a cause for concern unless it is unusually thick or has an offensive odour.
