A bleeding ear can be anything - a minor disorder or a very grave condition. Please visit your ENT physician to gauge exactly how severe your problem is.
Now - this first bit of advice you might already know, but it's always better to check. Do not put anything in your ear - especially a foreign object that doesn't belong there. No hairpins, no pens, no pencils. In fact, even an ear bud should not enter your bleeding ear. Remember this.
The bleeding could also be a result on an injury. The injury need not be an ear injury. It could even be a blow to the head. In such a case, visit your ENT. If you have a ruptured eardrum, do not panic. They usually heal completely. Visit your ENT in this case too. Incase you are wondering how you might have ruptured your eardrum - loud noises and pressure changes (like those experienced in airplanes and elevators) could be the possible culprits. A clotting disorder too could be your culprit. Find out what the exact cause is from your ENT.
Incase your bleeding is caused by an ear infection; your doctor can put you on a regular dose of antibiotics to help you out.
