Is there a remedy for thin hair. Not thinning hair but naturally thin hair. I would like to have a little thicker hair. Hope you can help.

Some people have naturally thin hair that generally lacks volume, while others find that as a result of hair fall, there is a sudden or gradual thinning of the hair on their scalp. No matter what your hair type or problem is, it necessary to follow some daily hair routine to maintain the natural beauty of your hair. The two main factors influencing the health of your hair are diet and lifestyle. Illness, poor diet, and vitamin and mineral deficiencies generally affect the quality of your hair. This generally result in problems such as thinning hair, balding, premature graying, and dandruff, and all these spoil your hair and need to be treated. A person's hair condition reflects his/her entire constitution, and if the person isn't healthy, then their hair's condition will also not be good.

One of main causes of hair fall is dandruff, and there are many dandruff remedies at home, involving the use of vinegar, olive oil, and baking soda, which are easily available in the kitchen. Baking soda, for example, has a grainy texture that helps remove dead skin cells and excessive oil from your scalp, while retaining excessive natural oils. Apply baking soda to wet hair and rub it on your scalp. Leave this for about two to three minutes, and rinse thoroughly. Avoid shampooing your hair for a day as the baking soda can dry your hair and scalp. Another home remedy for dandruff involves the use of olive oil. Massage it into your hair and leave for seven to eight hours to smother the dandruff. Rinsing your scalp and hair with vinegar after shampooing is also one of the dandruff remedies that really work.

There are many home remedies for thinning hair for both men and women, specifically African American women. These natural remedies for thinning hair, if practiced on a regular basis, can help strengthen hair and speed up its growth. You can take some water and boil some dry capsicum or red bell pepper in it for about seven minutes. This tonic on cooling can be applied to the scalp. Red bell pepper has certain properties that speeds the growth of hair and also promotes its general health. Another thin hair remedy is the use of aloe vera gel. This gel should be mixed with almond oil and rubbed on to the scalp for about two minutes. Then, wash your hair after 30 minutes. This will soothe your scalp and boost hair growth. The juice of aloe vera can also be consumed everyday early in the morning before eating anything else; this will also encourage hair growth. You can also use the juice of Indian gooseberry in the same way to promote hair growth. Take some dried Indian gooseberry powder and apply it to your hair and scalp for about half an hour, before rinsing it off.

Another home remedy for thick hair growth is massaging some coconut milk into your scalp. Simply grind some coconut, and use the extracted milk on you hair. Shampoo this off after about 45 minutes to an hour. Powdered date seeds when mixed with an egg white also help thicken your hair. Apply this to your scalp and shampoo it off after about 30 minutes. You can also use hibiscus petals instead of date seeds. Another thinning hair home remedy that can work wonders for your hair is massaging your hair thrice a week with castor oil. This will really work wonders and improve the growth of your hair. You can also use mustard oil to prevent hair loss. Boil about 100 grams of henna leaves in 250 grams of this oil. Once it cools, store it in a bottle and use it regularly.

Another item from your kitchen that can improve your hair growth and give you thicker hair is an egg. An egg massaged into your head before shampooing can work wonders for your hair as it basically comprises of animal protein and works just like your specially formulated shampoos would. Home remedies for thickening hair such as these have to be practiced on a regular basis for any noticeable differences. You can combat baldness and thinning hair by following a proper diet that is rich in calcium, silica, and iron. Include plenty of green leafy vegetables that are good sources of minerals. Silica is found in raw oats and cherry juice and dried fruits are a good source of iron.

For women suffering from thinning hair, the cause could be problems related to the gastrointestinal tract. Thinning hair could be an indication of insufficient stomach acids. It could also be a deficiency of zinc, proteins, and other nutrients. Men, on the other hand, can slow down the balding process by following a low-fat diet. According to some scientists, male pattern baldness could be due to increased levels of testosterone during puberty. A high-fat diet can thus raise the testosterone levels, and this could have an adverse affect on the hair follicles. Eating food that is low on fat could slow down the process of hair loss. If your hair fall problem results from thyroid dysfunction make sure that you eat foods that are rich in iodine and vitamin A. Increase your intake of vegetables such as spinach and carrot and also include seed oils that are cold-pressed such as walnut, flax, or pumpkin seeds. An iron deficiency can be taken care of by increasing your intake of soy beans, turnips, cabbage, peanuts, millet, and pine nut.

In addition to following a proper diet, performing scalp exercises plays an important role in preventing hair fall. The best exercise you could do is stretching and walking. Practicing yoga can also be beneficial for hair loss prevention. As there is a correlation between mental stress and hair loss, yoga helps relax both your body and mind. Certain yoga asanas are extremely effective for increasing the scalp's flexibility. You should also take good care of your hair and protect it form the sun and other elements. Make sure you cover your head while outdoors in direct sunlight, or in windy or cold weather.

The quality of your hair depends on your genes. If your parents have had thin hair and it runs in your family then you would have thin hair too. But that does not mean you can't have beautiful hair as healthy hair comes from the way you take care of your body and your scalp and hair. You should follow healthy eating habits, stay away from junk food, alcohol and smoking. Besides this also remember to have enough water through the day as your body functions best when it is well hydrated. Also exercise regularly or you could also practice yoga as it helps to increase the blood and oxygen flow to your head, thus stimulating the hair follicles and making your hair healthy and shiny. Apart from following this healthy routine you can try the following home remedies to make your hair thicker.

Keep a bottle of apple cider vinegar in your bathroom and rinse your hair with it every time before your shampoo. If you have the time then take half a cup of apple cider vinegar and mix it with equal quantity of water. Massage this on your scalp and cover the length of your hair with it. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes and then shampoo your hair using a mild herbal shampoo. Use an organic herbal shampoo if you can and stay away from harsh cosmetic hair products.

Oiling your hair 3 to 4 times a week will also work wonders to thicken your hair and make it shine with health. You can mix half a teaspoon each of almond oil, olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil and a little bit of honey. Warm this mixture and massage it into your scalp and cover the length of your hair with it. Leave on for a few hours or overnight and then wash off using a mild shampoo. If you are leaving the oils overnight do not add the honey, just use the blend of oils. This will rejuvenate and stimulate your scalp boosting the health and texture of your hair. It will also help to make it longer, stronger and thicker. Do this every alternate night to get the best and quick results.

You can also use a nourishing and thickening hair mask once a week. Mash one ripe banana, add an egg to it and blend until you get a smooth mix. Next add half a cup of flat beer and a tablespoon of honey and blend well until you get a creamy consistency. Apply this all over your hair and scalp and leave on for about 2 to 3 hours. Shampoo off using a mild organic shampoo.
