Alternative Cure for Blister on Lips
The following are some natural remedies to help heal blisters in the lip area.I have some good home remedies for you to get rid of the blisters on your lips:
- Clean the blisters with saline solution
- A paste of cornstarch applied on the blister may help dry it out
- Aloe vera gel may also have a healing effect
- Grape fruit seed extract mixed with some petroleum jelly or mineral oil may be applied
- Wrap a couple of ice cubes in a flannel cloth and apply a cold compress to the area
- An infusion made with sage and ginger may be taken internally to heal blisters caused by burns
- Apply a warm tea bag to the blisters for about 20 minutes.
- Lemon balm extract applied directly to the blisters will hel speed up healing
In case of cold sores which are caused by the herpes virus, the following additional measures can be taken:
- Echinacea Purpurea may be taken in supplement form. It helps boost immunity.
- Vitamin C may be taken at a dose of 500mg-1g daily. This is also said to help cure infections.
- Don't go out in direct sunlight as much as possible. Cover the blisters with a scarf if you must go out between 10AM and 4PM
- Take Lysine supplements to help prevent recurrence
- Apply Lysine cream topically
- Wash hands with antibacterial soap or use rubbing alcohol on your hands whenever you touch your sores. Otherwise you will end up infecting other parts of your body as well.
