My daughter is vomiting, any remedies

Vomiting can be a symptom for many conditions. It is important to know the reason why your daughter is vomiting before guiding you perfectly. However you can try the following simple home remedies for vomiting:

  • Firstly vomiting causes excess amounts of fluid loss from the body and make you feel weak. So make her drink lots of water, if she avoids water give her some soft drinks or flat soda which she likes, as this can also provide instant energy.
  • Avoid feeding her for at least one hour after she vomits. Let the stomach rest for some time.
  • Wipe the surrounding areas of mouth both externally and internally thoroughly to get rid of the off odor as the odor can trigger a nauseous feeling.
  • Apply cold compress on her head as this will help her relax and let her take lots of rest, as vomiting often subsides with adequate rest.
  • Try to make her eat after she is relaxed, introduce bland foods first in small portions, once she tolerates this then increase the portion size and variety.
  • Treat the underlying cause for vomiting and you will treat vomiting, for example vomiting or nauseous feeling can be due to migraine, so if she has a migraine attack then treat that first and vomiting would go on its own.
