When you are suffering from a cold you may undergo this problem of clogged nose while sleeping. When you lie down your nose gets chocked up or clogged and you are unable to breathe.
- The best remedy is steam. Take hot water steam. Put carom seeds (ajjwine) in water. It will give some relief at bedtime.
- Keep crushed garlic near you and inhale it to unclog your nose.
- Inhaling onion slices is also helpful.
- Prepare a solution of baking soda and table salt in equal proportion. Put it in the nostrils at bedtime for getting relief from nose conjunction.
- Keeping head propped up or elevated while sleeping helps. Take two pillows for this.
Breathing exercises for cold:
- Breathing exercise is also helpful. Breathe with one nostril. Close the other nostril while inhaling. Exhale with the other nostril. Practice this alternately with both nostrils for 20-30 times.
- Inhale with both nostrils and exhale from one nostril at a time. Do this with both nostrils for 20-30 times.
- Just inhale by both nostrils, hold your breath. Now exhale. Practice this for 20-30 times.
- Do all these exercises every day.
