- Wear shoes and socks with proper ventilation. Use cotton socks and wash them everyday. Keep extra pairs of shoes and socks.
- Discontinue smoking and reduce alcohol, tea and coffee.
- Maintain adequate fluid intake by having a minimum of 1 liter of water and fruit juices daily.
- Use arch supports, cushioning insoles and wider and open shoes for comfort and air circulation.
- Keep your blood sugar levels near to the normal level.
- Wash your feet with warm water and an antibacterial lotion or any mild soap. You can use baby soap for this purpose.
- Massage your feet with coconut oil twice a day.
- Add 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar in half a bucket of water and soak your feet in it for 15 minutes everyday before going to bed at night. You can also dip your feet in cold water.
- Avoid walking barefoot. Keep your feet clean and wear slippers at home. Rest them and dust them with a powder after washing and drying them. Use a cooling foot cream or a moisturizing lotion to keep your feet smooth.
- Protect your feet from exposure to sudden warmth or chill.
