Try these simple home remedies to deal with herpes virus -
- Pour warm water over the sores 3-4 times a day. Clean the area and completely dry it. Corn starch can be applied on the clean area to dry the sores.
- Place wet tea bags on the sores, tannic acid present in tea will have a soothing effect on the skin tissues. Discard the used tea bags after each use.
- Wrap ice in a towel if there is more pain or itching and apply on the sores for 5-10 minutes.
- Keep your nails short, wash your hands frequently and avoid scratching or touching your sores on and off. If done then this can pass the virus to other parts of the body like mouth or eyes.
- To ensure proper air circulations wear cotton panties or cotton clothes and avoid tight fitted clothes.
- Sex should be avoided completely as even the condoms fail to help, because the whole affected area is not protected by condoms alone.
- To avoid relapse of this virus boost your immune system with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole wheat and its products, eggs, skimmed milk and its products, soy beans and lots of water. Avoid foods that stress your immune system like chocolates, processed/canned foods, refined foods, sugar, cola drinks and caffeine.
- Siberian ginseng and gypsy mushrooms are also effective against herpes virus.
