The skin on the neck needs extra care when it has become dark or pigmented. Try the following home remedies to lighten your pigmented skin on the neck -
- Lemon is a natural bleaching agent and works best for pigmented skin. Cut a ridge of lime and rub it gently over the pigmented skin near the neck. Wash it after 20 minutes with cold water. If you feel irritated then apply sunscreen lotion 30 minutes before applying lemon on your skin.
- Don’t try to peel or scratch your skin, as it would leave the skin in an inflamed situation.
- Lime juice when mixed with oatmeal and yoghurt also helps to lighten the dark pigmented skin. Apply this mixture on the pigmented skin and wash it after 20 minutes with cold water.
- Include lots of vitamin C rich foods in your diet like oranges, papaya, strawberries, tomatoes, cabbage, green peppers, dark green leafy vegetables, broccoli and pineapple. These foods would help improve the skin texture.
Consult a specialist (dermatologist) for exact diagnosis of the black skin as it can be due to some underlying cause (Type-I diabetes) or if the problem persists or increases.
