I got some oil and grease in my eye. What should i rinse it with

The first thing you must do is rinse your eye well with running water and flush the oil and grease out immediately. If the pain has lasted for over six to eight hours, you should consult an eye specialist immediately. However, there are some eye rinses you can use to dislodge any remnants of the oil and grease. Sometimes washing your eye with plain running water is enough. But it would be better if the water is distilled and warm because distilled water is pure and of any chemicals. Also make sure that the water is not very hot as it can cause more damage to your eye. To make sure that absolutely nothing foreign is left in your eye, part your eye lid up and then away from the eye ball while you're washing it. There are many homemade decoctions that are good rinses or eyewashes as they eliminate any contaminants in the eye caused by infection, foreign particles or chemical irritants. One of these decoctions is made with coriander seeds. Boil the seeds in distilled water and let it cool. Filter the eyewash and rinse your eye with this 3-4 times a day.

Another solution you can make is a simple saline eye wash. Boil one cup of water and one teaspoon of salt and allow the water to cool completely before using it to rinse out the grease from your eye. Tea is also considered a good rinse. It's a simple decoction made from mixing green tea and distilled water. Boil two parts of green tea with one part of water. This mix also helps to reduce inflammation and irritation. Eye bright herb is also great for making a cleansing eyewash. Soak one teaspoon dried eye bright in one pint of boiling water. Cool and strain the decoction and use it as an eyewash. Dissolving about 2-3 granules of alum in a cup of water and using this as an eyewash is also beneficial. An effective way to ease pain is by making a compress from warm moistened guava leaves placed on a warm moist cloth. Rose water has soothing and cooling effects on the eye; use it to get relief from the pain. There are a few things that should be kept in mind when you are making these eyewashes at home. Check if you are sensitive to any of the products mentioned above. Also, filter the liquids very well before instilling them in your eye. It's recommended to filter them through muslin about three times. Use the homemade eyewashes within 24 hours since there are no preservatives, which may result in bacteria forming in the eyewash itself which in turn can land up harming your eye in the bargain.

  1. First make a remedy with 1 tsp pure honey and sprinkle black pepper powder, less then 1/2 a pinch.Mix it well.Apply this inside the eyes and close the eyes, the eyes will burn and water. Thus the oil and grease stuff too will be flushed out. Lie with closed eyes for 5 minutes. Then slowly open them and go to a wash basin or sink and splash water from the tap.Splash 5 times in each eye. Then take this tap water in the bowl of your hand or eye glass and dip each eye in it and blink it for 10 times. Then replace with fresh water again and dip the eye, likewise for both the eyes. Repeat with fresh water for 5 times for each eye.
  2. Take a homeopathic remedy called as Euphrasia 30 5 pills 2 times daily for 10 days.
