Bartholin glands are located on both the sides of the opening of women's vagina. It is difficult to see them when in normal condition. They help to keep the inner surface of the labia and vagina moist by secreting a fluid. Bartholin cyst can cause painless swelling, the fluid to become infected, and pus around the inflamed tissue. Common signs and symptoms include tenderness, pain, redness, or warmth near the vaginal opening. The treatment for this condition would largely depend on the size, pain and infection in the cyst. To help the cyst drain on its own, sit baths that is soaking in a tub filled with warm water several times a day for few days would be the best remedy. Besides practice safe sex, always use a condom and maintain good personal hygiene.
If your condition does not improve 2-3 days after self treatment then consult a specialist to avoid any complications.
