- Chew some basil leaves, suck a piece of jaggery or drink a glass of chilled milk.
- Chew some almonds when the condition aggravates.
- Take some pounded ginger root with honey for immediate relief.
- You should have apple, cucumber, banana and watermelon regularly.
- Avoid excess of tea and coffee and hot spices or food, fried foods, pickles or junk foods.
- Drink lots of water and never skip your meals. Eat small regular and frequent meals and keep away from heavy meals and overeating.
- Garlic, pepper, ginger and onion should be consumed less or avoided completely.
- Do not lie down for at least half an hour after your meals or do any strenuous activities.
- Before going to bed at night go for a light stroll.
- Exercise regularly and do deep breathing exercises to calm your nerves.
- Drink coconut water several times during the day.
- Sip a glass of buttermilk along with your meals. You can eat yoghurt after your meals or drink mint juice.
- You can suck on a piece of clove whenever acidity increases.
- Mix 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar and 1 tsp of honey in 1 glass of water and drink it before your meals for relief from acidity and heartburn.
