White sugar is a refined sugar that is industrially processed and not found in nature. This sugar is actually not fit for human consumption and can cause many health hazards.
White sugar is causes constipation because when we consume this refined sugar, the metabolism process requires vital vitamins and nutrients. In other words, absorption of white sugar involves the use of essential vitamins and minerals that are responsible for regulating vital body functions. All the vital nutrients are pulled away from the body's tissues during the metabolism of refined sugar, resulting in depletion of vitamins and minerals in the body.
Lack of vitamins and minerals affects the healthy digestive system. Low fiber content hampers the process of flushing out toxins from the body. The increased metabolism of white sugar, therefore results in constipation.
Other causes of constipation are low fiber diet, high fat diet, lack of physical activity, milk, dehydration, intestinal diseases and irritable bowel syndrome.
