- This bad taste in your mouth could be due to the side effects of some prescribed or over-the-counter drugs that you might be taking. This could also be the symptom of halitosis i.e. bad breath. It might be caused due to pregnancy in some women or due to some diseases.
- Drink plenty of water and rinse your mouth after eating or drinking anything, especially milk, tea, coffee and milk products.
- Brush your teeth and floss them daily twice after getting up in the morning and before going to sleep at night. Also take care to brush your tongue at the top and at the back. Use mouthwash to kill any lingering bacteria in the morning and at night.
- Avoid smoking completely and control the consumption of coffee, tea and alcohol.
- You can chew sugarless gums after your meals if you can not brush them and rinse your mouth with water.
- Eat or use fresh mint and parsley as mouthwash.
- Gargle 2 times a day with salt water.
- In 1 glass of water add the juice of half a slice of lemon and use it as the last rinse whenever you wash your mouth.
- Suck on 1 or 2 clove spices and cardamom during the day. This will not only cure the bad taste in your mouth but will strengthen your teeth and freshen your mouth.
