Vaginal yeast infection health advice
Yeast infection is a common problem that most women experience at one time or another. The infection is caused by a fungus called Candida albicans that lives in your body. The problem occurs when the fungus goes out of control and causes an embarrassing itch. A moist vagina presents the perfect opportunity for the fungus to proliferate. A yeast infection causes itching and often you will find that the area is red. You may also notice some discharge and a burning sensation. If your problem persists it is advisable to consult a doctor.
Hygiene is of primary importance to control a yeast infection. Ensure that the vaginal area is always kept clean and dry. Always wash yourself with warm water and dry well. Avoid using soaps which are strongly scented. Wear loose underwear in natural fibers. Avoid tight underwear in synthetic fibers. Avoid wearing very tight clothes since these will only create a warm, moist atmosphere and help the yeast infection flourish.
Eating yogurt helps control the yeast infection. Try to avoid eating sugar since this only aggravates the problem. You can also fill your bathtub with warm water and add one cup of vinegar to the water. Soak in this for at least half an hour. Dry yourself well. You can repeat this at least twice a day.
