Pansinusitis information and tips

Pansinusitis is essentially sinusitis, but it involves inflammation of all the paranasal sinuses. The paranasal sinuses are the air cavities in the human skull that connect with the nasal cavity. They are commonly referred to simply as sinuses. In sinusitis, inflammation of the cavities occurs due to a variety of causes, typically allergies, disorders of the autoimmune system, and infections of bacteria, fungi, or viruses.

Since the sinuses are connected with the nasal cavity, they are easily affected by any inflammation or infection of the nose and the nasal cavity, such as allergic reactions and colds. When the nasal lining gets inflamed, mucus builds up in the sinuses, resulting in infection, inflammation, and a build up of pressure. This is why sinus pains are not like normal headaches, but tend to have an explosive, pressurised feeling.

There are several home remedies and over the counter medications that can help your condition, but treatment should be taken keeping in mind the underlying cause. Assuming that you have already visited your doctor and been diagnosed with pansinusitis, you should ask your doctor about the possible causes and treatments. Pansinusitis is usually the result of infection rather than allergy, and in extreme cases may require surgery.
