Causes and Remedies
Eruptions on the lips are usually due to an allergy to a medication or cosmetic product being used or even a food item that has been consumed. If you have recently started a new medication or changed your brand of lipstick or any cream that comes in contact with your lips, stop using it immediately and consult your doctor or dermatologist. It is also important to first test for allergies to any chemical or food item that you may be consuming. Sometimes bumps may appear on the lips after an operation due to an after reaction to the drugs and medication that was used, but these would go away as the effect wears off. For immediate relief from such eruptions you can rub some ice on the lips. Rubbing Aloe Vera gel on your lips can also help to treat these bumps. Bumps on the lips can also occur due to Hepatits C, so you should consult a doctor and if he suspect lichen plannus then a liver test would be prescribed. Finally bumps on the lips, tongue or palate can also be due to a gential human papilloma virus infection. This infection is observed the most amongst sexually active patients who indulge in oral sex frequently.
