How to get rid of corns without medical help?

Natural cures for corns

Corns can be easily removed at home with a minimum of cost and effort. There are several home remedies you can use quite easily to take care of this problem. The first thing to remember is that you should not try to fidget with your corn. The more you keep your hands off it, the better your chances of getting rid of it easily and quickly. If you fidget with it all the time, it could not only stick around longer, it could also spread. Tea tree oil is one of the most highly effective solutions to take care of a corn. You can make a solution of a teaspoon of tea tree oil in a cup of rubbing alcohol and store this. Dab this on your corn about twice a day and let it remain there. The best way to do it is to apply this at night, and cover and leave it. This is the most effective method and it will also successfully sanitize your skin.

You can also apply castor oil to your corn and then stick a band-aid on it. This method will not allow the corn to breathe and will make it fall off, sometimes in about a week or even less.

Corn home remedies

Firstly, you need to realize that although there are effective home remedies for corns, sometimes medical treatment is unavoidable. If your corns are particularly painful and refuse to go away using home remedies, you should not avoid going to the doctor. For severe, persistent corns, there may be no option other than to surgically remove them. This is an extremely minor operation, so you should not mix it up with the common idea of surgery.

For minor corns, you can simply use a pumice stone to rub the corn down, effectively filing it away. This is of course not to be done in one sitting, but over the course of a few days. You can first soak your feet in warm salt water (this will also ease the pain), and then, while your skin is still moist, lightly rub the corn with the pumice stone. You should also consider changing your footwear, particularly if this is not the first time you have developed corns. Try getting footwear that supports your arches well, or get arch supports or appropriate insoles for the shoes you have.

Another point to be noted is that if you are suffering from diabetes, you should avoid treating corns at home, as it is very easy for infection and other complications to set in.
