I assume that you mean you have a toothache and inflamed gums. You are right, vitamin C does help to fight inflammation and bleeding of the gums. However, you need to understand that this is only a temporary remedy that is meant to control symptoms, and not a cure. To permanently solve the problem you will probably need to visit a dentist.
In addition to taking vitamin C, you can try some other home remedies for a few days - if it is one particular tooth that is affected, you can apply clove oil to the tooth and the surrounding gum area. Clove oil is excellent for most tooth and gum problems, but do not use too much or use it too often, because an excess of it can be harmful. You can also rinse your mouth vigorously using warm salt water several times a day. Basic oral hygiene is also extremely important - brush your teeth at least twice a day, taking at least two minutes to do this. If you smoke, you should stop at least for a week, but preferably for good. You should cut down on alcohol as well, but on the other hand, one effective remedy is to rinse your mouth with a sip of alcohol. This disinfects the gums and also eases the pain.
