Hair loss due to itchy scalp

An itchy scalp could be signs of a skin problem like eczema or even dandruff which causes the scalp to dry and itchy scales to form which fall off when the hair is combed. Apart from the embarrassment of having an itchy scalp it can also lead to hair fall in many cases. The best way to treat an itchy scalp and prevent hair fall is to keep your scalp and hair clean by regularly washing it and maintaining a balanced diet rich in Vitamin B and folic acid found in seeds, nuts and grains, fresh fruits and vegetables like spinach and lettuce, as well as proteins found in eggs, meat and cheese. You should vigorously massage the scalp with your fingertips and apply indian gooseberry (Indian Gooseberry) or coconut oil to treat itchy scalp. The increased circulation will also prevent hair fall by making your hair healthy.

Natural oils such as Eucalyptus, Chamomile, Lavender and Margosa are found to be beneficial for itchy scalp caused due to eczema, curing dandruff and also for hair fall. These oils can be sprayed into the hair by mixing them with water in a proportion of 1:4, or else added directly to your shampoo or conditioner. ½ cup of crushed juniper berries mixed with 2 cups of boiled water can be applied to the scalp to reduce itching. An excellent pack can be prepared using 1/2 ripe avocado, ½ cup yoghurt and ¼ cup honey. Leave this in your hair for 1 hour before washing it off. In addition to all this supplement your diet with flaxseed oil and fish oil with Omega 3 and 6 to nourish your body and hair.
