HOMEOPATHY IS A SAFE AT HOME MEDICINE THAT CAN HELP WITH MANY AILMENTS. FOR EAR ACHE, HOMEOPATHIC CALCAREA CARBONICA 30C OFTEN HELPS. THIS CAN BE PURCHASED AT ANY HEALTH FOOD STORE. TRY FOUR PELLETS DISSOLVED UNDER THE TONGUE, 20 MINUTES AWAY FROM FOOD OR DRINK. REPEAT IN TWO HOURS UNTIL RELIEF IS ACHIEVED.
AN ALTERNATIVE WAY TO GIVE HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES IS TO DISSOLVE THE LITTLE PELLETS IN A SMALL GLASS OF WATER AND THEN DRINK THE WATER.
IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR YOUR DAUGHTER TO AVOID EATING DAIRY PRODUCTS UNTIL THE EAR ACHE GOES AWAY.

While there are several home remedies that can be helpful for earache, it is important to see a doctor if you daughter has a fever, chills, or has recently had a cold. This is because antibiotics are still the recommended treatment for ear infections caused by bacteria, and your doctor may need to do a culture to see if there is bacteria in the ear.
80-90% of the time, however, earaches are caused by allergies or viral infections that do not require antibiotics. In these cases, I recommend the following home treatments:
Warm olive oil or garlic/mullein oil compound--apply a few drops of warm oil to a cotton ball and insert in the ear. The olive (or garlic/mullein) oil acts as a natural anti-inflammatory and the heat will allow the tubes to drain. Do not use other types of cooking oil as there is no medicinal benefit!
Apply a warm moist compress (either a handtowel rinsed in hot water and wrung out, or a hot water bottle covered with a towel or washcloth. Have your daughter lay with the affected ear down on the warm compress. The heat will be soothing and encourage the tubes to drain.
Do not use an electric heating pad or water so hot it can cause scalding or burning!
Warming sock treatment--rinse thin cotton socks in cold water; ring out and put on feet. Cover these with wool or polyester socks and leave them on for 20-40 minutes (best to do this at bedtime). This directs bloodflow away from the head and down to the feet, which can help reduce inflammation and congestion that may accompany an earache.
Other recommendations: there is evidence to suggest that food allergies may contribute to chronic ear infections. Dairy, wheat, and soy seem to be the primary allergenic foods in children. Avoiding these foods can reduce the liklihood of future earaches or infections.
Always see a doctor if fever develops, if there is any discharge from the ear, if your child is extremely lethargic, if your child has no appetite, or if the earache lasts more than 2 days after home treatment!
I hope that this information has been helpful!
