This most commonly occurs due to exposure to very bright ultraviolet light or due to burns caused by steam or very hot gases. Burns caused due to harmful chemicals are also known to be very dangerous and can sometimes cause permanent damage. The eye burn generally heals itself in a span of one or two days and will heal without leaving a scar but during this time it is important to look out for any signs of infection that may occur during this period because the damage done may cause a loss of some vision in that eye . It is the possibility of an infection occurring that is the most dangerous factor of getting eye burn.

There are a couple of remedies that you can use to combat eye burn. However given the fragility of the eye and its importance as a sensory organ, it is very important to consult an eye doctor as soon as possible you will be able to find out the exact extent of damage that has been caused and hence the proper steps to treat it. The normal remedies used are antibiotics drops or an antibiotic Ointment that is used to prevent infection. Sometimes a doctor will prescribe antropine drops in order to help the eye relax and heal.
