What can you take naturally for a cough which the doctor says is from allergies?

There are numerous ways in which you can treat an allergy cough, helping return normalcy to your everyday life. As with any allergy there is no cure as such but allergic reactions can be controlled or even eliminated, by identifying and reducing or eliminating the exposure to substances or conditions that act as a trigger for an allergic reaction. There are a number of substances that can trigger an allergy cough. The most common cause of allergy coughs is pollen.

Other common causes include animal dandruff, mold, and dust. Although our natural instinct would be to try cough suppressants at the sign of a cough, this is not always a good idea as in a cough of this nature your respiratory tract and lungs are cleared through the cough. It may not be in the best interest of your health to stop the cough immediately. Instead you can take medications or try some home remedies to give relief and sooth your throat without completely suppressing the cough. Honey and chamomile are both very soothing and are commonly used as ingredients in such remedies as they are extremely soothing.

If you suffer from a prolonged cough, lasting over a week it would be best to visit your doctor as diagnosis of the exact cause would be necessary to effectively treat it.
