The skin around your mouth is extremely thin and sensitive. Excessive waxing or bleaching can cause this skin to darken giving it the appearance of dark scars. You mentioned that you tried using a couple of home remedies but that you did not get the desired results. Unlike cosmetic products, you will need to use a natural treatment for at least three months or so before you get visible results.
Do not use a facial scrub or any cosmetic face wash on this area. Wash a potato thoroughly and peel it. Mash the peel along with a few drops of lemon juice and honey. Both potato juice and Lemon juice have bleaching properties and will help to reduce the scars. Instead of amber honey, use dark honey as it contains more anti oxidants. These antioxidants help to retain elasticity and decrease fine lines. Swab the affected area with milk and when it has dried you can rinse it off with warm water. Milk contains lactic acid which will help to slough off the uppermost layer of your skin thus helping to reduce the scarring.
If you are not happy with the results within three months or so, you can visit a dermatologist who will prescribe a stronger medicated cream.
