There are some very simple facts about chicken pox which are not well known. You must make it a point to visit a clinic and educate your self about the disease in order to be better informed about it. This way, you will also be able to help your friend out. The first thing you need to know is if you were inoculated against chicken pox. This inoculation is usually given in infancy. The normal time frame for it to be given is between the 12th and 14th month of the child's life. In most countries, this inoculation is simply administered as a part of the routine shots given to every child. There are some countries where it is also administered free of cost. If you were inoculated against chicken pox as a child, you need to have no worry or fear about being a carrier, or even contracting the disease. Your inoculation will keep you safe and protected from chicken pox for all your life.

The other thing to know is that usually, chicken pox is transmitted via the red boils that typically accompany the disease. These boils are itchy and if they are scratched, then they will emit pus like fluid, which is responsible for spreading the disease. If your friend was diagnosed on Thursday night, and you were with her Thursday morning, then the chances that she had any boils erupt and burst do not exist. Because of this, there is absolutely no fear that you may have caught the disease. Similarly, you cannot be a carrier either, because no bodily fluids were exchanged. Usually, this is the way any transmittable disease spreads. In any case, your friend should remain quarantined for the duration of the disease. It is always better to rest and be away from others, not only because she may transmit the disease to other people, but also because she will find it difficult to recover without adequate rest.
