What are the early stages of asthma?

Asthma is an illness under which the patient finds it difficult to exhale properly due to a sudden spasm that can actually bring about involuntary muscle contractions of the alveoli in the lungs. There are several types of asthma. One of the commonest kinds is one that occurs due to common allergies to food, medicine, the weather, a change of seasons, fragrant products, dust or smoke. This is common allergic asthma. Another kind of asthma is psychosomatic. In this case, the onset of the asthma as well as subsequent attacks occur due to any type of emotional upheaval, a tragedy, or, in some extreme cases, the stress of everyday living as well.

The early onset of asthma would involve some highly specific symptoms. The commonest symptoms of asthma, which have become the passwords for the disease worldwide are wheezing and shortness of breath. If a person suffers from these symptoms with some frequency, in similar conditions, then medical attention is warranted. Please do remember that asthma cannot be self diagnosed. It would require a proper examination of the airways of the person affected to determine if they are indeed suffering from asthma or if it is just a temporary shortness of breath, which can also sometimes occur. Asthma is not temporary, and is by no means unexplained. It has definite, positive reasons that have medical precedents. For instance, an asthmatic will have certain pulse patterns - the pulse rate of the person will rise when they exhale and fall when they inhale. This is the exact opposite of the normal way in which pulse patterns work, and is a strong and definitive sign of asthma. Sometimes, chest pain is also a typical sign of asthma, though this is not a common. If detected during the early stages and determined by a doctor, asthma is a completely curable and controllable disease.
