Paining Throat Because of Unchewed Food

What can be done if some unchewed food item gets stuck in our throat and its paining now?

The first thing to address is how long you have had this problem. If your throat has been paining for more than a week, then you would be better off showing it to a doctor. It is possible that the unchewed item will end up causing further problems otherwise. Sometimes, you can also develop a small boil in your throat which feels like something is stuck. This could happen if you have had something too hot or if you have been hurt by something rough or unnaturally big that went down your throat wrongly. Keep in mind that this will feel like some object but it is actually not so. In order to determine or eliminate this, you need to get your throat examined by a doctor. If you are indeed suffering from problems due to some foreign object stuck in your throat, then you can employ some simple remedial measures at home to take care of the situation. One of the first things to do is to drink a large glass of water down in huge gulps. This will act like a tidal wave fro your esophagus. If something is stuck in your throat, then it will be flushed down by this simple act. Keep in mind that there is no glue holding it in place. So the force of the water should be enough to push whatever it is down successfully.

If this does not work out, then you can employ a couple of other methods as well. You can eat a whole handful of potato chips and swallow the whole thing down at once. The mixture of oil, salt, potato and saliva will be smooth, but the ball of food getting pushed down your throat will be big enough to take anything else that is stuck with it. This may help to dislodge the object and send it down your gullet with the chips. It can then exit your body in the normal way. You should try this method frequently if it does not work once or twice. If you do not wish to eat so much of potato chips, then you can try the same thing with bread. Bread will actually turn into a dry lump, since it has the tendency to absorb saliva. This will also help greatly with pushing down whatever it is that needs to be gone. If none of these methods work, you can also try to gently massage your throat with upward strokes from the outside.
