Effectively Treating Boils Using Natural Remedies

I had a boil which broke open 4 weeks ago. It is still draining yellow, clear and red (blood) liquid. I was on antibiotic for 3 weeks prior to it breaking open. There is still a knot under the skin. Kindly advice.

Tender, puss-filled eruptions on the skin which begin in the form of a small red nodule which breaks down in the middle where a reddish-yellow liquid has collected, are known as boils. It can cause itching, irritation and pain, sometimes accompanied by fever. Boils are primarily caused by the staphylococcus germs which enter the skin and hair follicles and lead to these eruptions on the skin. However they can also be caused by an incorrect lifestyle, with an imbalanced diet and lack of detoxification of the system. It is thus important to monitor your diet with plenty proteins found in fresh fruits and vegetables. You should avoid all processed, fried and spicy foods, pickles and sauces, tea and coffee, desserts and all sources of refined sugars as well white bread and sources of refined carbohydrates. You should consider detoxifying your body by going on an all fruit or juice diet for a week. You should avoid constipation by consuming plenty of fiber and ensuring that your system stays clean and fighting fit. In addition to this you can take an enema with warm water to cleanse your bowels and detoxify your system. A warm compress applied to the boil3 to 4 times a day not only soothes the pain but also makes the boil come to a head and abets easy, relatively painless drainage of the pus.

Bitter gourd is very effective in treating boils and thus you drink 1 glass of bitter gourd juice with 1 tsp of lemon juice every morning on an empty stomach. This helps to cleanse the system, thus treating the boil. Since garlic and onion have high sulfur content which helps to treat boils, you should use them liberally in your food preparations and you can also apply the fresh juice of garlic or onion on the boil till it has healed. Alternately you can make a poultice with onion slices and apply it on the boil 3 to 4 times a day till it has come to a head and drained. This ensures that the boil is cleaned completely and relatively painlessly. Another poultice that helps to bring the boil to a head is prepared with 1 tsp of milk cream and vinegar with a pinch of turmeric powder. The healing properties of turmeric are well known across the world and you can also apply a paste of turmeric powder mixed in water over the affected areas till the boils heal completely. This will not heal the boil but also ensure that it drains completely and does not leave behind unsightly scars and knots in the skin.
