Suffering from Anxiety and Depression

I am a 40 year old female and I am suffering from giddiness in evenings. I also have a history of being anxious and being depressed. Kindly help.

The problems as well as the medical history you have described sounds like your problems lie more in your mind than on any physiological illness. If you have a history of anxiety and depression, then it is not surprising that your concentration levels are also reducing with time. Forgetfulness is usually a common accompaniment of anxiety. When people have a tendency to become anxious over small matters, then they also have a tendency to forget things to a very large extent. Depression, while not leading to forgetfulness, does indeed lead to disinterest in simple matters of daily life. You would need to ensure that you are not suffering from the same problems too. If you are facing giddiness in the evenings, you should also look into whether you are suffering from any sort of physical weakness as well. If so, then this could also lead to further problems that could become problematic for you. One of the first things you must do is consult with a physician and look into the possibility of you suffering from any physical problem which is causing this giddiness. While it need not necessarily be the case, it cannot be ruled out either. Only a complete medical check up will reveal accurately.

If you have determined that you are not suffering from any physical problem, then you can take steps to cure yourself of this dizziness. The first thing to do is to make it a point to get some rest each afternoon. If your time for feeling dizzy is in the evenings, then it is better you get some rest as close to that time as is possible. This will help to store your energies and regenerate yourself. Try not to accumulate too much work in the evenings. This will help you to relax more. You should also try and see if you can opt for yoga. This is not only a physical but a spiritual form of exercise as well. You would also need to learn how to control your breathing while learning yoga. This can be extremely beneficial in terms of learning how to meditate as well. If you can learn how to meditate, your powers of concentration will improve dramatically. This is basically what you need. You should also check your weight and ensure that you are not underweight. Dizziness is a common factor when people are suffering from low weight and other forms of weakness related to it.
