The most effective way of getting rid of black eyes is to start treating them early. If you are beginning to treat your black eyes within about an hour of getting them, then your first step should be to apply warm compresses to them. This will sting strongly and will also make you momentarily uncomfortable. But this is the best way to take care of them as well. The warmth from the compress will dissipate the blood that would otherwise have pooled in the injured area and will be responsible for your black eye. This way, you will be able to prevent the blackness as well. Only after you have done this for about an hour or so, should you actually start trying other things. Of course, the most important thing you can do for your eye is rest it. This will not utilize the muscles and will give it a chance to heal properly and ell. Sleep if you can. And stop counting the hours. The more you sleep the better and faster your eye will heal. The next thing to do would be to start with applying cool compresses to your eye. Make sure you do this only after about an hour of supplying warm compresses. If you wait that long, the blood will have had a chance to dissipate and your cool application will only help to prevent swelling which is what lowered temperatures usually do.
You can also apply chilled used tea bags to your eye for best results. Tea also has healing properties which will help to heal your eye well and quickly. Another excellent method to prevent swelling and provide relief at the same time is to massage your eye gently. You can start with the eyelid and go to the cheekbone. Massage in tiny circular motions with your fingertips. This will help to spread out the clotted blood within the skin and will help to prevent swelling. You should start doing this for as long as you can, and as soon as you can. To begin with, simply use your finger tips and be gentle. After a while, you can also use some mustard oil. Mustard oil has strong healing properties that will help to heal the injury in your eye as well. A combination of all of the methods suggested here will help you to get relief from the pain your eye may be experiencing and help to heal faster.
