What's good for a sty? Please suggest some remedies

You can try several easy to follow methods that can help considerably in removing your sty. But keep in mind that if the sty is full blown, it will take at least two to three days for it to completely go away. This is because that is the normal life span of a sty. In case you are approaching a sty while it is mid way through growth, then you must make allowances for that kind of time at least. In order to take care and get rid of a sty, the best way is to first understand what needs to be done. To begin with, your sty must reach full growth. After this, it has to be drawn out of the skin so that it is exposed, which is when it will burst or seep open. The best way to do this is to apply warm and dry heat to the sty. An excellent solution for sties is cloves. Take a clove, wet its head in a drop of water and rub on a clean and hard surface. It will leave behind a paste. This paste must be applied to the entire area around the sty. Keep in mind that you cannot apply this on the sty directly. This may result in the paste getting into your eye and that is dangerous. This paste is extremely strong in nature and can not only cause damage to your eye, it will also hurt really badly. Applying it to the area around the eye will help to push out the sty more easily. Leave it on till it dries and then wash it off with plain water. This is a fairly harmless remedy - providing you do not allow the liquid to get into your eye. It can also be done as many as about 8 times a day.

Among the other remedies you can try are things such as using a warm cloth to apply to the area around the eye. This will also have the same results, but it will be extremely slow to show the results. Another old wives' tale dictates that you can take piece of iron and rub it on the area around the sty. It is believed that the iron will stimulate the sty to get out and be pushed away from the comfortable skin it has settled into. This method, however, will yield slow results, so you need to be ready for that.
