Women have much finer and lighter body hair than men do, as a consequence of which their skin looks comparatively much smoother and fairer. However, due to the tremendous hormonal changes that take place in the body during adolescence, some young girls may face the embarrassing problem of having very coarse and prominent hair on the body. This may be especially conspicuous in the case of hair on the face and the arms. There are several mechanical means of removing unwanted body hair such as shaving and waxing, but they involve pain and are not a permanent solution to the problem. Hair removal creams and laser hair removal are more effective in getting rid of unwanted body hair, but you might not want to try these means on the delicate skin of your young daughter.
Thus, it may be useful to try a few simple home remedies to solve the problem. One of the most popular ways of removing body hair naturally is to mix a teaspoon of sugar with a tablespoon of lemon juice, and a little water. Massage the skin with this mixture in the direction of hair growth. Wait till the skin feels completely dry and then rinse it with water. Sugar acts as a natural scrub while lemon juice has natural bleaching properties. Follow this remedy every day for a few weeks to find a noticeable reduction in the prominence of body hair. For another remedy, mix a tablespoon each of corn flower and powdered sugar with an egg white and apply this thick, sticky paste on the arms. Let the paste dry out completely in air and then gently peel it off using lukewarm water. Follow this procedure every alternate day for a month.
You will observe a significant reduction in the growth and prominence of body hair. For a quicker remedy, mix a teaspoon of camphor and some finely ground white pepper. Add a few drops of kerosene to it to obtain a thick paste. Smear this paste on the skin and wash it off with cold water after 10 minutes. The body hair will fall off within a couple of days. A very effective and time-tested method of getting rid of body hair is to mix two tablespoons of turmeric powder with an equal quantity of milk and massage the skin with this paste in circular motions. After 15 minutes, rinse it off with water.
