Avoiding sugar and refined carbohydrates in your diet will gradually serve to decrease your cravings for these foods. I often recommend stevia as a sugar substitute and complex carbohydrates instead of refined carbohydrates. Choose lower glycemic index foods instead of those which convert to sugar in your bloodstream faster. To avoid spikes in your blood sugar, pair a fat with a carbohydrate fruit or vegetable (almond butter with an apple is a good choice.) Increasing your protein intake may also help with carbohydrate cravings. L-glutamine, chromium and gymnema may be helpful supplements.
