Acne is a very common problem and can be experienced later on in life as well. Many people visit a doctor after they notice the first outbreak of adult acne. There are however, many home remedies for adult acne that you can use as well.
One of the best and effective home remedies for adult acne is to maintain personal hygiene. In order to achieve this, you will have to keep your skin clean, washed and free of sweat at all times. Cleanse tone and moisturize your skin daily and exfoliate your skin once a week. This skincare regimen will keep dirt, debris and oil from building up on the pores and this will reduce the number of acne breakouts. Natural treatments for adult acne also include applying fresh lemon juice on the affected area and leaving the juice on overnight. Wash this off with warm water in the morning. Aloe vera juice can also be applied on the acne. This juice will also help in healing the acne scars. Another home remedy for adult acne would be to apply the yolk of an egg onto the affected area, twice a day. This helps to get rid of the acne and helps it to disappear quickly.

What causes acne in adults?
Acne will be seen on your skin in the form of pimples, cysts, blackheads and so on. Acne is not a skin problem that affects only teenagers. Adult acne is a very common problem in most people. What then are the causes of acne in adults? The causes of acne in adults would depend on many reasons. One of the most common causes of acne in adult is hormonal imbalances. There are particular hormones present in the body mainly testosterone and androgens that fuel the sebaceous glands. This leads to an increased oil production by these glands. The skin then becomes oily as a result of this hormonal imbalance and the pores also get clogged, leading to an outbreak of acne. Excessive make up also tends to clog the skins pores and this is another cause of adult acne. Make up prevents the skin from breathing and blocks the pores. One of the main causes of acne affecting adults is a bad diet. Eating oily foods like burgers or fries and so on can also lead to acne. Physical, emotional or psychological stress can also lead to acne. Stress weakens the immune system and makes it easy for bacteria to attack it. Treating adult acne is possible – either through medication or through home remedies.
