It is very common for darker skinned people to develop dark patches on the inner thighs, groin and buttocks. This generally occurs due to friction of the skin. The best thing you can do is to reduce any excess weight if you are overweight. Also reduce sweating in the buttocks and groin region by wearing comfortable cotton garments. Synthetic materials can increase the friction and can also cause excessive sweating. Application of talcum powder in the affected areas will help to prevent friction. Once the friction stops, the darkened patches will slowly begin to fade away. There are several natural methods by which you can reduce the darkening of the skin around the buttocks. An effective skin lightening pack can be made with a teaspoon of sandalwood powder, a teaspoon of oatmeal powder and a teaspoon of buttermilk. Mix all the ingredients well together and apply to the affected areas regularly. It is also very beneficial to apply lemon juice to the darkened skin. This can be done by rubbing a slice of lemon on the skin thrice a day. After applying leave it on for about ten minutes and then wash it off. For a more convenient method, you can also soak in a tub of water to which one cup of lemon juice has been added.
Potato is a popular remedy for bleaching the skin and raw potato can be grated and applied to the skin. You can also extract the juice from grated potato and apply to the affected areas with the help of a cotton ball. Aloe vera gel applied to the pigmented skin four times daily will help considerably in reducing the marks if used regularly. You can even rub cucumber juice over the dark patches. A paste of freshly ground mint leaves also works well in lightening the skin.
