Alopecia areata is an autoimmune skin disorder wherein persons own immune system (White Blood Cells) attack the affected hair follicles leading to hair loss. Generally the hair grows back within 12 months however in some cases it might take longer.
It mainly affects children and young adults, and reoccurrence is very common with several episodes of this disorder during a lifetime.
Inflammation and rashes occur in some cases but it is not related to moist weather in your country. Also breathlessness is not a common symptom in alopecia areata.
