Acid reflux is a common problem that many newborns face. It is a condition when your baby spits or vomits its feed. Apart from these precautions some good home remedies are apple cider vinegar and cumin seeds for conditions of baby gastro esophegal reflux.

Acid reflux is a very common problem in new born babies. This is because a baby's digestive system is not yet accustomed to milk. Acid reflux causes the acids from your baby's stomach to wash up into his esophagus and this can cause serious damage to his esophageal tract. It is therefore important to take steps to prevent or at least minimize this condition. In most cases, babies take a few weeks or months to outgrow this problem but since your baby is six weeks old and still suffering from this condition, it would be wise to use a few simple remedies to get rid of this problem. It has been seen that mothers with a high-fat diet have a higher risk of having their babies suffering from this problem. If you are breastfeeding your baby, it would be wise to ensure that you follow a healthy diet.
You can also ensure that your baby does not have long feeds and instead has many short feeds. This is very helpful as it ensures that your baby's system is not overburdened with digesting large amounts of milk. Your baby will not appreciate being limited in this manner but it is important that both of you get accustomed to this new schedule as quickly as possible. You can also give your baby a little warm water in between feeds as this will help to flush out any excess stomach acids that may be present in the esophagus. In addition to this, make sure that your baby does not lie down for a nap immediately after a feed as this will encourage the stomach acids to reflux. Instead you can carry your baby about for at least 30 minutes or so after a feed to ensure that the risks of acid reflux are kept minimal. You can also use a small bolster to make sure that the mattress in your baby's crib is at an incline. This position prevents the stomach acids from rising. A regular schedule has been seen to be very effective in regularizing a baby's system and helps to prevent acid reflux. If your baby has been vomiting or has diarrhea, make sure that you visit your doctor as soon as possible as it is also possible that your baby may be lactose intolerant. A baby has a very delicate digestive system, so avoid foods that are very spicy as this will affect breast milk and in turn have a very negative impact on the baby.
