Bumpy skin cures remedies

Bumps on the skin can be more of a cosmetic concern than a medical problem, but all the same, one must pay attention to the causes of skin bumps. Skin problems that lead to a bumpy skin include folliculitis, keratosis pilaris, lipomas, dermatofibromas, neurofibromas or cysts. One of the causes of skin bumps is folliculitis, which is the inflammation of hair follicles. The inflammation may be the result of an infection contracted while shaving, chemical irritation caused by cosmetics, and physical irritation that result from friction or rubbing of clothes, and so on. The face, thighs, and scalp are the parts of the body affected most often by folliculitis. Many red pimples and pustules and itchy skin are signs of this condition, which is common among diabetics and those who are obese.

Keratosis pilaris is usually seen in the upper arms and thigh as small red or white bumps on the skin. Also commonly referred to as chicken skin, the cause of skin bumps of this type relates to the excess production of the protein keratin in the body. Unused Keratin builds up around hair follicles on the skin and hardens over time to form small bumps. They are usually not itchy, though when the patches appear on the cheeks, they may be dry, chapped, and itchy. Moisturizing regularly and using topical creams and lotions is the only way to soften the skin and get rid of skin bumps with time. Keratosis pilaris flares up during winter months, and in women, it can get more severe during pregnancy.

Other causes of skin bumps could be lipomas and neurofibromas. Lipomas are soft tissue tumors that appear below the skin singly or in groups on the shoulder, neck, or the trunk of the body. Skin bumps on back and shoulder may be removed by excision or with lipectemy. Neurofibromas are fleshy benign tumors that may appear on or under the skin. Though they are mostly harmless, they may be removed if they are pressing on a vital nerve.

Not to be confused with skin bumps, a rash is an indication that there is something that does not agree with the body in the food you eat, in your clothes or accessories, or in the environment. Infections such as yeast or fungal infections, ringworm, or viral infections like chicken pox or shingles can manifest as red itchy bumps on the skin. Skin bumps treatment in such cases should be undertaken with medical advice. Small itchy red skin bumps rash on the skin could also be the result of a bacterial parasite infection caused by swimming in water which is not very clean. These parasites can be found in water bodies around the world. The bumps, though initially itchy, do subside on their own within a week.

Common among skin diseases which lead to an itchy, scaly, bumpy red skin in patches is eczema. Similar to eczema in its presentation, psoriasis is a condition that results from excess production of skin cells that build up to form flaky dry patches of bumpy skin. Cysts on the skin can be result of infection, allergies or clogged sebaceous glands below the skin.

One bumpy skin home remedy that really works is keeping the skin moisturized and hydrated. Harsh chemicals in soaps, cosmetics, and cleansers can irritate the skin and hence these should be avoided. Treatments for bumpy skin like microdermabrasion can worsen the problem. Apart from skin care, a healthy balanced diet plays a very important role in ensuring that the skin remains smooth and radiant. Drinking plenty of water helps to prevent dehydration and keeps the skin supple and elastic.

This is a fairly broad question, so it is impossible to give a definitive answer without knowing what exactly is causing the bumps, what the bumps look like, do they itch, etc. However, drinking plenty of water usually clears up the problem. Additionally, treating the bumps with Tea Tree Oil and Witch Hazel is also very effective, but it really depends what the problem is. Improper water consumption habits can lead to extended periods of dehydration which can sometimes cause small bumps on the skin, especially on the backs of the upper arms.

If your skin simply rough and bumpy, using a pumice stone or a natural cleanser with ground up peach pits or other rough material will polish the skin and remove old, dead skin. This drastically improves the look and feel of your skin. If the bumps itch, you should consider taking a bath in oatmeal and baking soda to sooth the skin and balance the PH of your skin. You can also apply a cream made from comfrey and slippery elm to help smooth out and heal your skin. If the bumps are uncomfortable, try applying calendula cream to the bumps several times a day. This will take away any itching or burning and will help heal the skin.
