Many men worry about the size of their testicles, thinking that the size determines fertility and also sexual performance. However, there is no known connection between smaller sized testicles and the inability to perform during sex or to have children. A huge number of men are also concerned about the unevenness of the testicles and the fact that one hangs at a lower length than the other. This is a completely natural phenomenon and the male anatomy is constructed in such a way that both the testicles are not of the same length. The reason for this is very practical and logical. The testicles are located just in front of the legs. As you move each leg, the testicle on that side gets pushed forward. If both the testicles were to hang at the same length, they would keep colliding into each other, making it uncomfortable and painful to move. Since the testicles are oval and hang at differing levels, they are able to move freely past each other while walking.
The testicles hang by a cord and the cord on the left testicle is a bit longer than the cord on the right. As such the left testicle tends to hang slightly lower that the right one. The top ends of the cords are connected to the pelvis muscles. This serves to lower or raise the testicles as per the requirement. When the body is exposed to cold, the testicles become raised in order to remain warm. When you feel hot, the testicles are again lowered so that they are away from the body and can remain cool. Also, when the body is active, the pelvic muscles raise the testicles to keep them from getting bumped into while running. Sexual arousal results in an erection of the penis, and during this time too, the testicles are raised so that they do come in the way and get bumped into during sexual intercourse.
Urologists maintain that the average size of the testicles for a normal male lies between 4 cms. to 7 cms. If the size of the testicles is below this, then it would be advisable to undergo a medical examination. The testicles produce testosterone, which also determines the libido of a man. The testicles also produce spermatozoa which is essential for the process of reproduction. If the testicles are smaller in size, it could be indicative of a hormonal imbalance, which could have other consequences on the body also. If the testicles are normal in size, then there is no cause for concern at all.
